is AVG still extremely heavy on the system?

I'd say yes-stopped using it after v.7-A comparison among the most popular utilities is here (www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/07/11/which-free-antivirus-is-the-lightest-on-system-memory-usage/) -A year old,but no changes in the ones I use

Sigh, another one bites the dust. I had hopes for AVG, but it seems to be getting heavier.

AVG is very heavy for your computer.
Its using lots of your CPU / Speed of your PC, which is very annoying.
I use it because I want maximum security with less false positives possible.

I like AVG from now on, but I might change Anti Virus later this year.
ESET NOD32 rocks and is light-weighted, but there are lots false positives.
