Malwarebytes & Advance System Care 10 Ultimate

Recommended Posts

Hi axemaster,

Please read our previous post and you could better understand this issue:http://forums.iobit.com/forum/advanced-systemcare/advanced-systemcare-v10/219679-malwarebytes-quarantines-advanced-systemcare10?p=219882#post219882

In order to continue using our programs, please follow the solution below.

Launch your Malwarebytes program >> go to its Settings >> click Protection >> find Potential Threat Protection, change the settings for Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) from Treat PUPs as malware (recommended) to Ignore Detections. Then reinstall Advanced SystemCare Ultimate from: Download.cnet.com

Thanks for your understanding.

As I have said previously, this is very bad advice, telling users to get their Malwarebytes to treat all Pup's as not a threat.

Malwarebyte users should only put Iobit files into the Exceptions/Ignore List. This will prevent Malwarebytes from flagging Iobit but will still flag other Pup's which may be dangerous.

Hi Scannan,

You are definitely right that changing the PUP setting is not a perfect solution. We chose to ignore PUP detection for the following considerations:

1) Adding all the relevant files to the Exceptions is a big workload, and it is easier for user to change PUP setting directly.

2) Adding Advanced System Care as exclusion in Malwarebytes will not stop MB from detecting Advanced System Care’s registry settings.

Thanks for your sincere consideration for users. Now we have found a better way to add all relevant files and registry entries to Exceptions of Malwarebytes.

I am not sure if you guys know. I have been using Advance System Care since version 2. This is the first time I had Malwarebytes removing parts of Adance System Care.

Hi axemaster,

Please take the steps below to add all relevant files and registry entries to Exceptions of Malwarebytes

Open Malwarebytes->Click on Settings->Click on the Protection Tab->Scroll down to Potential Threat Protection->Set the PUPs and PUMs setting to Warn User->Scroll down to Automatic Quarantine->Set Automatically quarantine detected malware to Off

If you are using premium, you need to remake your automated scans in order for these new settings to apply to them. So please do the following:

1. Click the Scan Schedule Tab

2. Check the box next to scheduled scan to select it, then click Delete at the bottom right

3. Click the Add button and set up a new Threat Scan with the preferred settings

4. Reinstall Advanced SystemCare Ultimate and run a scan with Malwarebytes.

5. Uncheck all of the boxes related to Advanced System Care when the scan is finished.

To uncheck all the boxes at once, please click the box next Threat, and then click Next. In the next pane choose the option “Always Ignore” and Malwarebytes will no longer detect Advanced SystemCare Ultimate.

Thanks.
