Windows File Explorer behaving strangely

Recommended Posts

I have been using System Care and the uninstaller. Windows Explorer has started behaving strangely. I thought possible the two might be related, so I thought I would ask if anyone else is seeing this strange behaviour.

When I double click on a drive or directory, normally Explorer shows the contents. Now it displays a message this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control Panel.

I can still see the contents by right clicking open.

Hi Roedy Green,

Please download the tool from http://testdemo.iobit.com/InfoHelperV9.exe. Then double click to run this tool on the PC with problem and click "Save report".

After it finishes, you will get a pop up window to tell you where the report file IObit_Debug_Info.zip is saved. Click "OK" button to open that saved folder.

Please send the zipped file to us so that we can get the detailed information to look into.

And please boot your computer in Safe Mode to check whether the same situation or not. Guide to boot in safe mode : http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm

Thanks.
