As a Newbie please could someone explain how to disable the desktop splash box concerning the CPU and RAM from appearing at boot up time? I follow how to exit but not have it appear initially.

You can follow the steps below:

 

Go to Settings... -> Click General Settings -> Uncheck the item Enable Performance Monitor -> Click Apply and OK button.
