Microsoft has released an incorrect driver for Window 10 on March 8, 2017, this driver is Microsoft -- WPD -- 2/22/2016 12:00:00 AM -- 5.2.5326.4762. Most of user's mobile phone or portable device cannot connect to the computer after installation of this driver.

This driver is updated by Windows Update, so you can check whether you have installed this driver by Windows 10 update history. The detailed steps are as below:

From Start Menu, choose Settings>>click Update and Security>>click Windows Update>>select Update History. The following picture is for reference. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n219757[/ATTACH]

 

If this driver is showed in your Windows Update history, please try following methods to fix it and delete this incorrect driver?

 

Method 1: Use Driver Booster to roll back or uninstall this driver

1. Connect your mobile devices to your computer

2. Run Driver Booster >> Scan >> click UpToUpdate tab >> search the device MTP Device >> right click it >> select Roll Back or uninstall

3. Reboot PC after Roll Back or Uninstall, connect your device to computer again to see if It can be connected normally.

 

Method 2: Use the restore point in Driver Booster to restore

1. Run Driver Booster>>click Rescue icon on the top right – Click System Restore

2. If any system restore points are available, it will be displayed on the System Restore list.

3. Find and select a restore point before March 8, 2017 and click Restore button to restore your system
