Start Menu 8 blocking Automatic Windows Updates

seems that Start Menu 8 is blocking Automatic Windows Updates

 

instead, i have to manually go to the control panel > windows updates to query microsoft for any updates and then i have to manually trigger them

Start Menu 8 does not block Windows auto updates. You can uninstall Start Menu 8 temporarily to check whether Windows updates will be installed automatically or not.

i tried that

 

as soon as i uninstalled Start Menu 8, the win updates were visible in the start menu options (like shut down with updates, etc)

 

then i re-installed Start Menu 8, and then i had to go to control panel > windows updates to see if any updates were available

Please take a screenshot about the Start menu with Windows updates in it "as soon as i uninstalled Start Menu 8, the win updates were visible in the start menu options", and send the screenshot to us for further checking.

I think it could be anything that's blocking the Windows updates. I think it would be worthwhile if you can check the firewall that you have installed first. Maybe disable it and see if it makes a difference?
