False Positive - Game updater tool [SOLVED by db 1435]

Recommended Posts

Hi IObit,

I'd like to report the presence of a false positive in the form of a program that updates a particular game named Nightmist. I know for sure that this is not malware or a virus because I'm a moderator of said game (although not its programmer). The reason why it's potentially seen as malware is because it downloads an EXE file from a website and is also an old Visual Basic 6.0 program that uses bytecode communicated through an interpreter DLL (hence might be seen as obfuscated). Granted, the program itself could use an update since it doesn't work properly on the latest versions of Windows due to the requirement of administrator privileges.
