Potential False Positve - sbbsctrl.exe [SOLVED by db 1741]

I am using IObit Malware Fighter 5.5 Pro, and I think there's a false positive with it. In particular, it's the Synchronet Control Panel, with Synchronet BBS Software. For a long time, that file showed up just fine, but now, IMF is showing that it's malware (a Generic Trojan). The file I sent was sbbsctrl.zip, uploaded to WikiSend at http://wikisend.com/download/192620/sbbsctrl.zip

 

I did a Virus Tool Scan at https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/b4...7897/detection -- and it showed it was clean.

 

I run a computer bulletin board system (BBS) as a hobby, and I can't run the BBS without the Control Panel. For now, I have added it to my whitelist.

Most probably False Positive and you have done the right thing putting the suspected false positive to White List, but please also give IMF report for the file in your next post for the clarification of the used Database #.

Hi Darly Stout, Sorry for my late reply. Yes, it is a false positive. It has been removed in the latest database. Please update to the latest database to solve the issue. Thanks for helping us improving our products.
