  • iobit malware fighter 5 is blocking webcam

Hi all, looks like malware fighter 5 is blocking my webcam (when using chat clients). How can I create a white list for my webcam?

May I ask the the software that you are currently using on chat clients and also the webcam file, try to create an exception using the screenshot below if will work.
Please provide us some specification of your system, are you using chat clients via browser or via app?

    Kind regards.

      Windows 10 64bit
jitsi client (go to tools, options, video)
webcam logitech c910 (not sure on the file).
When I disable real time protection i can go to jitsi tools, options, video and select my webcam and see the video, if i enable real time protection the webcam video is black and does not work.

The solution can be found by reading the Product Manual
To err is Human. To really mess things up you need a PC.

Ok found the issue, it was camera guard. Jitsi must be seen as a unknown unauthorised program. So to fix it I have disabled camera guard until iobit adds jitsi to the authorised programs list.

            Hi ageekhere,

            Sorry for my late reply.

Fo the issue you mentioned, please take the steps below to solve the issue:

            1) Please turn on Camera guard again.

            2) Please click Allow and Remember when you get the block popup.

After that, you will not get the block again.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Even though the camera was allowed camera guard still blocks it, so i just disabled camera guard.

                Hi ageekhere,

                Sorry to hear that.

Would you please send us the block message you got?

Guide for taking screen shots can be found on: http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/gen...screenshot.htm

Please also download the tool from http://testdemo.iobit.com/InfoHelper.exe

Double click to run this tool on the PC with problem and click 'Save report'.

After it finishes, you will get a pop up window to tell you where the report file IObit_Debug_Info.zip is saved. Click 'OK' button to open that saved folder.

Send the zipped file to us so that we can get the detailed information to look into

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Just an update that Malware Fighter v6.0 camera guard still blocks the video for jitsi.

                  To test
                  - install jitsi (you do not need to setup an account)
                  - Go to tools, options, video
Malware Fighter will ask for camera permission
even though you have selected allow the video preview will be black (and so will video calls).

To fix, disable camera guard and restart jitsi (important)
                  - Go to tools, options, video
Now the video preview will work (and video calls).

So the bug is that Malware Fighter camera guard can still block the webcam even though you have allowed it.
