program wont start

Recommended Posts

I bought this program and ran it one time. It found two virius. Now a few weeks later im still ahving problems so I try to scan my machine again. Clicking IMF.exe directly does nothing, clicking the icon does nothing and tring to start it through Advanced Systm Care 6 does nothing. Todan I was able to manually update it by clicking the update exe in the root folder. Still nothing. I try to scan an object by right clicking it and I get nothing. Im thinking a hidden virus disabled it.

Hi Iron Man,

Thank you for your feedback.

For the issue you mentioned, please re-install IObit Malware Fighter from http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/iobit_malware_fighter.html to see whether the issue can be solved.

If you still can not run IMF after re-installation, please check whether there are IMF.exe and IMFsrv.exe in your Task Manger.

Thanks for supporting IObit!

Hi Iron Man

Which antivirus program are you using? I cannot see that in your profile.

Cheers

I am using Microsoft Security Essentials but I thought this program was an antivirius also. Theres a difference between a virus and malware?

Hi Iron Man

The only program in the IObit arsenal with full fledged antivirus is ASCU

IMF is recommended to run alongside an antivirus program.

But since you have MSE running it should have taken care of the viruses

Most of the definition files in IMF are for other types of malware.

The advice of enoskype is pertinent!!

Cheers

solbjerg

I am using Microsoft Security Essentials but I thought this program was an antivirius also. Theres a difference between a virus and malware?

Welcome to the forum Iron Man

My FireFox extension FlashBlock said there was a flash video in your file

When I opened your post to edit it I found what I have marked with >>>

O2 - BHO: Increase performance and video formats for your HTML5 < video > - {326E768D-4182-46FD-9C16-1449A49795F4} - C:\Program Files\DivX\DivX Plus Web Player\ie\DivXHTML5\DivXHTML5.dll

I put spaces in < video > and your file is now complete

End of file - 15970 bytes

I don't know if this weird behavior has anything to do with your problems (I doubt it) but I have never seen this on the forum before, I think I would remember if I had

All the best, woz of oz

When I looked at your Hijack file it was incomplete and the end looked like this. I have to put this at the end of this reply because nothing else will post after it.

Click on the screen to the right of HTML5 and see the rectangle frame where the 'video' should be (works in FireFox)

Hi peleus,

Thank you for your question.

And scrd01 has given you a concise and clear answer.

It is suggested to run an anti-virus software and anti-malware software together to give your PC a complete protection.

scrd01, thank you so much. I see you are active to help others in many posts.;-)
