Why am I getting private messages from a banned member???

Because times are different for members in different parts of the world I will ask you to check this.

and see what time solbjerg made that post about banning Eternity.

 

According to your screenshot, the spam PM was sent Yesterday 4:04 pm.

Was that before or after the solbjerg post saying Eternity was banned ?

Eternity was banned by me just before 18:23 - that is 17:23 GMT and about 11:23 AM at your location Okie.

So it looks like you really recieved the PM after the banning.

It says so in your screenshot too -

We will look into this further.

I don't remember if Eternity was logged in for more than 5 hours?

At least I think it should be impossible for Eternity to send anymore - my thought is that if Eternity was logged in, the banning may first take effect for he/she after having logged off?

You can limit the receipt of private messages to just moderators and those on your buddy list. So, other members who attempt to send messages to you will be told that you have disabled private messaging...

In the screenshot Enable Private Messaging is not ticked, won't that disable PM completely so you could not send any PMs or receive them even from Moderators and Buddies ?

 

I would think (but don't know) you should enable PMs and then tick Receive Private Messages only from Buddies and Moderators (as you have)

Then put your Buddies in the Buddy list

Hi woz. I think I had it like you say and got one from the banned one. I now have it like you suggest. You were right about not being able to send PM's. Its a shame we have to go to these extremes. There are always those who can't stand good things and have to mess them up for others. I got burned with the email feature, so its turned off. Thanks.--Okie PS Looks like we may all have to choose the buddies feature. Do you think viruses could be started through these features??? That's scary !!! I hope MSE protects me.:lol::lol::lol:

I would like to be a HoneyPot for PM spam then I could Ban the member immediately but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the members they choose :?:

I that case you got it approximately 2 hours before he/she was banned.

Please react by reporting it as soon as you see it!

Probably is a "he" - males tend to be the most numerous spammers I think.

Thinking themselves smart bread-winners I suppose :-(
