Question Windows crashes during registry deep scan

This is not just an ACS problem. I have tried other registry cleaners with the same result. Virus and spyware checks came up clean. Tried running cleaner in safe mode, same result. Is there such a thing as a boot time registry checker? Any other suggestions? And no, I don't want to reinstall.

Well start by giving more details on your windows OS and system. This is possible that your registry is corrupted. Download Hijackthis and save the log and report here.

Alternatives are to repair your windows using your windows cd.

Use also HDD Diagnostic Utility

Start by deffraging the registry, this will remove obsolete keys.
