Default ASC and SD icons disappear in statusbar
Good Day,
i use Advanced System Care and Smart Defrag for some time. i have only one problem:
directly after install the two icons correctly appear in the status-bar next to the clock, in the lower right part of the screen.
BUT after a day or two they disppear and do not come up there again.
i see/think that the programs are working fine in the background but i like to see the programs be active in the statusbar.
Is there a suggestion that can help.
i have checked in both programs the option: 'starting with start-up from windows', so that is not the solution.

btw: i checked the computer on malware and spyware and viruses with fully update Malware-bites, Avast and Microsoft Security essentials but nothing was found.

i find the ASC icon does that on my w7, the program is still there in the background and i just open from the start menu to get the icon back, not too worried about it.

Hi pitrpaulus,

It seems that you are running 2 anti-virus programs, MSSE and Avast. It is not advisable to run more than one A/V program.

Did you install ASC cleanly (the procedure is in Over the top/Clean install post in USAGE of IOBIT PRODUCTS thread.

You can use BitRemover 1.41 to uninstall ASC cleanly.

Did you install it as an Administrator, and also run it as an Administrator?

Do you use UAC? If yes, then try using ASC with disabling UAC to see if ASC systray icon works normally.

Thanks for that suggestion. i stopped MSSE and Avast still remains. (i also had some problems downloading files via Firefox and thats now solved!)

Did you install ASC cleanly?
You can use BitRemover 1.41 to uninstall ASC cleanly.

i uninstalled ASC and than used BitRemover. After that, by myself i found two more left-over-folders of ASC, via Windows Explorer, so that was done really clean. (i remember BitRemover for future occasions).

i run all this kind of programs as administrator.

i hope that the problem is solved. The strange thing is that 4 on 5 times the icons come-uo and than, suddenly, after a restart ASC-icon doesn't come up.
Well, this must be enough now.

i think this is all we could do.
and IF it should happens in the future, well ... let it be than.

ASC and SD are working fine.

I am glad that ASC and SD works better now.

You may have missed UAC part of my question in Vista, but anyway, since you are satisfied, it should be all right.

BTW, since your first post, some programs that you have, are updated, it is strongly advisable to update Java for example, and FF.
FYI, in the mean time, ASC and SD have new updated versions.
