Kaspersky detecting ASC 9.2 as trojan?

tweets

Recommended Posts

PDM:Trojan.win32.generic

We upgraded our ASC to 9.2, and the liveupdate.exe program was detected as the above trojan. This has now disabled ASC, as there is no way to avoid disinfecting the PC.

Any idea what's going on?

Hi tweets,

Sorry for it.

It is a false positive. We are contacting Kaspersky to solve it.

As a temporary solution, please add this file/program to Exclusion lists and check if the issue persists:

To add a file or folder to the Exclusions list so it is not scanned at all, please see Article ID 11146(http://support.kaspersky.com/us/11146?cid=pe#block2) or follow the steps below:

Open Kaspersky.

Click on 'Settings'.

Click on 'Additional' on the left.

Click on 'Threats and Exclusions' on the right.

Click on 'Configure exclusion rules'.

Click on the 'Add' button.

Click on the 'Browse...' button.

Navigate to the folder you want to exclude and click the 'OK' button.

Leave the 'Object' field blank to exclude all detections in that folder.

Optionally, you can enter a 'Rule comment'.

Click on the 'Add' button.

Close the 'Exclusion rules' window.

Click the Back arrow in the upper left twice to return to the main window.

Thanks.
