PC won't shutdown after updates

driver booster 2 updated drivers. after a while i shut down pc but it won't turn off. restarts no problem. just won't turn off.

tried doing a system restore and it also won't shutdown to restore

Welcome to the forum.

Use the Driver Rollback feature in DB to roll back the updated drivers one at a time until the issue is resolved. It is most likely a system driver so start with those. You could also try starting your pc in safe mode and do a system restore.

In future if you decide to update drivers you should do them one at a time rather than in a batch. It makes faultfinding easier.

didn't work. tried system restore in safe mode and won't shutdown. saw 2 problems in error log

system checkpoint restore point failed

driver booster:ATI SMBus restore point failed

Can you also try disabling Driver Booster or any security software installed and run a system restore again? Let's hope that it will work.
