Driver Booster is a handy tool for users unfamiliar with pc technology and particularly the role of drivers. But it can also cause serious issues for these inexperienced users.

Therefore, Driver Booster should not download automatically as part of a bundle or other product, and it certainly should not initiate a scan without direct user request. Because of the dangers associated with driver updates, Driver Booster, more than other products should be totally in the control of the user.

Additionally, Driver Booster should have a clear explanation within the program explaining that users update drivers at their own risk. It should also have a clear warning in the GUI telling the user that Driver updating can cause system instability if the new driver is incompatible with their system.

This will encourage users to think twice about automatically updating all drivers.

Agreed. Additionally, something like a pop up that serves as a recommendation that a particular driver needs to be updated because a user can take advanatage of certain features. And then it lists down the new fetaures for the new version. 1.gif

I've used DB regularly on old PC's. What I almost always see on first run is, let's say 6 available updates for the same driver/device (usually deep system devices like memory bus or chipset/IDE etc. drivers) that all point to the same driver, for example from v.6.4.6.9 May 06 to v.9.5.2.0 Apr 13. If I update just one of these devices, after a restart all the rest are updated too.

It would be nice if DB3 would intelligently filter these update check results and group them together, displaying them as a single available update.
