Missing Driver - MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ160B DVD-RW Drive.

Hi there guys, I need somebody's help.

I am looking for a driver for the MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ160B DVD-RW Drive. Working for Windows 10. It's actually for my cousin's Toshiba laptop. The latest version only seems to be compatible for Windows 7. But I've tried Googling and according to DriverToolkit there are a couple of later versions. But I'm not sure where to get them or even if they really are legit (doesn't seem like it).

I have tried Driver Booster 7 hoping that maybe they'd have an updated driver for Windows 10 but sadly I didn't find any.

Thank you.

The driver is installed. BUT there is an error code 19 beside the DVD RW in list for the Device Manager. Not exactly sure what that means. My cousin and i have repeatedly uninstalled the device and let it reinstall itself. But each time proves to be incompatible. It really needs a driver that's compatible with windows 10. Or guys, is it possible that there's something else going on there like a software or hardware conflict? We have tried everything. It was perfectly functional in windows 7 but now seems to be totally non functional since updating to windows 10. We'd also received a message that the driver was incompatible with the current version of windows (windows 10). And as i said there is no windows 10 driver available anywhere.

Thanks Scannan, I'll try the Toshiba support website. But when i checked it, unfortunately the model number was not listed under the drivers section or support sections. Unless i can download a driver for another model and it would still be compatible? I'll try a few different things and report back here.

Have a look here.....https://www.driverscape.com/manufacturers/microsoft/cd-rom/page46

Also see here....this seems to be a problem for a lot of people.....https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/windows-10-blu-ray-drive-matshita-bd-cmb-uj160/99fe9a5f-3618-4acf-8368-d95edf990a0e?page=1

The driverscape link only provides the drivers for Windows 7 and Windows 8 (with no way to install them). And I've tried to install all of them using Device Manager (no such luck!). And also they seem to be completely incompatible with Windows 10.

That Semantic GS website. I must've tried all of the drivers on there as well. They don't seem to install either. What they tell you is that they are different versions for different Windows. But when you download each one, they are EXACTLY the same file. I'm not even sure they are legitimate drivers for it. I've tried installing them through device manager as well, and they don't seem to install there either. That website also seems to demand you install driver finder which becomes apparent that it's obvious adware.

I think you may be out of luck. I even checked Panasonic (who are the makers) and nothing for your drive.....I think you will end up buying a new drive...they are cheap....or even a usb drive

What model Toshiba do you have. I have worked a lot with Toshiba and if you tell me the Model I may be able to find something.

Also have a look here....this site shows clearly that there is no Windows 10 support for your drive....https://burners.burn4free.com/matsushita-matshita-panasonic/matshita-uj160b.htm

Just saw this....may be worth a look.....http://apalonclothing.atwebpages.com/matshita-bd-cmb-uj160-driver-windows-10.html

Wow that looks like it could be something. Looks promising. I found a download link for it. I'll test it out and see if it makes a difference. Fingers crossed this works!

Thanks so much for looking around. I didn't even find half of those websites.
