On May 1, it was reported that Vulnerability hits Intel enterprise PCs going back 10 years, , this bypass-proven vulnerability exists in Intel Active Management Technology (AMT in short). On May 5, a science and technology analyst reported that the vulnerability was much more serious than imagined, and the hackers could exploit vulnerabilities to gain control of a large number of computers without entering any password. AMT feature allows system administrators to perform various heavy tasks through remote connections, including changing codes for computer restart, accessing to computer mouse, keyboard, and monitor, loading and running programs, and re-open the closed computer remotely. In short, AMT allows users turn on computer and control it just like administrator controls computer by physical contact.

Many vPro processors support AMT technology, and entering password is required for remotely running it through browser interface; however, Intel's authentication mechanism allows any text string passed through (or even no test required).

Regarding to this issue, Intel said on Friday that computer-makers expected to make updates available in the coming week. The new update will be upgraded in the form of Intel firmware, that is, every piece of the chip that has loopholes needs to refresh the firmware. Companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Fujitsu and Dell have also given warning against specific models and have published a timetable for each firmware update (some updates are available), you can take reference in the links below:

If the firmware update for your machine is not available, please check out Intel's security center for more information about vulnerability detection and mitigation.
