I may be experiencing the same issue as the poster. A few minutes ago, Avast popped up, saying a virus had been contained. When I look at the details, it says Win32:Malware-gen has been found in DriverBooster.exe, at the file path C:\Progarm Files (x86)\IObit\Driver Booster\6.0.2 . I'm tempted to uninstall driver booster, just in case, but I thought I'd post here first.

Hi MetalLight,

Welcome to join us at the forum.

For the issue you report, you may note that it might be a false positive. Please help us to look into this issue by providing the following information so that we can test and contact Avastfor this false positive accordingly:

1.Update to the latest version of Avast database and download the latest Driver Booster 6.1 from the link below to see if still any file of Driver Booster is detected as virus: http://update.iobit.com/dl/driver_booster_setup.exe

2. Please also download http://www.cd4o.com/drivers/debug/DBInfoHelper.exe >> double click to run this tool on the problem PC >> click 'Save report to Desktop' >>find db_info_xxxx.zip on your desktop >> send us the zip file at dbfeedback@iobit.com.

3. It will be more helpful if you could provide us the related detection log of Avast or just take a video of what happens.

Thanks for your help in advance.

1) I updated to the latest versions of both the Avast DB and Avast, as well as Driver Booster 6.1. So far, no virus has been detected since.

2) Just to be safe, I downloaded the DBHelper and ran it. I will be sending you guys the results shortly.

3) To be honest, I'm not sure how to provide the related detection log. If you could advise me further, I would be happy to do so.

I have had the same experience with AVG shield refusing to allow download as it has detected a virus in the .exe file

Hi coolcamper55,

Sorry for the inconvenience. We do find AVG and Avast detected Driver Booster 6.0 files. You may install the latest Driver Booster 6.1 from the link below to see if still any file of Driver Booster is detected as virus: http://update.iobit.com/dl/driver_booster_setup.exe

If still any problem, please also download http://www.cd4o.com/drivers/debug/DBInfoHelper.exe >> double click to run this tool on the problem PC >> click 'Save report to Desktop' >>find db_info_xxxx.zip on your desktop >> send us the zip file at dbfeedback@iobit.com.

Thanks for your understanding.
