Mouse 4/5 buttons not working in older games

I try and play Unreal Gold and Unreal Tournament '99. Extra Buttons on mouse will not work. Using Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000

Hi Stun, have you figured this out yet? Since it's from Microsoft, have you tried doing a Windows Update and see if the driver gets updated as well?

1. Delete a newly installed Mouse (HID Mouse) in Device Manager (automatically installed by the update) as it appeared to be interfering with my "Logitech HID-compliant Unifying Mouse" device.

2. Use Program Manager to uninstall Logitech SetPoint (the Mouse and Keyboard Settings tool for my mouse).

3. Restart the PC.

4. Reinstall Logitech SetPoint. (I used the latest drivers from Logitech, even though it was listed as the same version I previously had.)

5. Reprogram side mouse button key bindings with Logitech SetPoint.

6. Restart PC.

7. Celebrate and enjoy Destiny 2.

 

Note: I also used Fullscreen Borderless (a.k.a. Windowed Fullscreen in the in-game settings) . I'm not sure if this is relevant. (I am a total layman when it comes to PC stuff.)
