Can't run Office 16 shortcuts

Hello!

There seems to be a bug in Start Menu 8 which makes it so you can not run certain shortcuts unless you right-click them and hit "Open". This occurs with the shortcuts for Office 16 at least.

I tried searching for the error, and it seems a fix was posted in the attached link, but the file uploaded has been deleted.

Start Menu 8 - 1.1 is available! (Updated to 1.1.0.45) - IObit.Com Forums

Hi mecoptera,

Welcome to IObit Forum! :-)

When you said "can not run certain shortcuts unless you right-click them and hit "Open". This occurs with the shortcuts for Office 16 ", do you mean you cannot run the shortcut of Office 16 from Start Menu?

If yes, please take a screenshot about the shortcut in Start Menu, and send the screenshot to us. Here is how to take the screen shot: http://take-a-screenshot.org/

If not, please provide us more details and screenshots related to the issue, or just use your phone or camera to make a video about the issue and send the video to us for further checking.

@enoskype,

Thanks for your timely assistance.|;-)

Hello!

Yes, that's exactly what's happening. The shortcut works fine if it is located elsewhere (for example if I make a copy of it and try to run it from the desktop, it will work), but when ran through startmenu8 it will simply not start the process at all. It also refuses to be pinned to the menu (through right click option).

I couldn't upload a screenshot here directly for some reason, here is a link instead: http://i.imgur.com/5bdYadc.jpg

Hi mecoptera,

Please download the file SM.exe from the link below, then run it to install Start Menu 8 again.

http://wikisend.com/download/641272/SM.exe

After reinstalling Start Menu 8, try to open Word 2016 preview from start menu. If it fails to run Word 2016 preview, please follow the steps below to help us further look into it.

1.Download the tool GetIObitConfigurationFile.exe from http://testdemo.iobit.com/GetIObitConfigurationFile.exe

2.Double click to run it and click “Save report to Desktop”. After it finished, click OK.

3.Then you will get the file IObitConfigurationFile.log on your desktop. Please send IObitConfigurationFile.log to us.

Thanks for your time.
