Start Menu 8 not following redirected start menu path

Hello, I'm trialing Start Menu 8 on a few Domain connected Windows 10 machines, and have found that Start Menu 8 doesn't show the shortcuts from the correct folder for users with redirected start menus.

Via GPO we have set start menus for different users to point to different folders, when this GPO setting is set it alters the registry item "Start Menu" under the key at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders ("Start Menu" simply has a folder path in).

Other start menu alternatives follow the correct path and show the right shortcuts, but Start Menu 8 seems hard coded to look in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" no matter what this registry key says, so it shows the wrong things. Is it possible to force Start menu 8 to look in a different folder, via a registry key or file setting?

Many thanks,

Michael.
