Do Updates Pile Up On Hard Drive?

Recommended Posts

Hi wen

You are probably talking about IObit Malware Fighter (IMF) and the updates coming for that are the definition files for the malware

They add a bit to the .def file - the one from today 36.9 Kb - the whole database for .def files is about 8 Mb altogether.

This is a good thing, while it tells us that a lot of malware are getting blocked.

Many updates are just 1 Kb in size.

It will take quite a while before we run out of space :-)

Cheers

p.s. the security updates from Microsoft does really take up some space (about 1.3 GB - more than 160 times the size of IMF .def files).

It seems like every time I turn on my computer IObit has an update for me. This might be a silly question, but are all these updates piling up on my hard drive take up space?

Thank you!
