Disabling plugin-container.exe in Firefox

1.Open Firefox and type about:config and click I’ll be careful , I promise

2.Now search for ipc in Filter box .

disablingplugincontainer thumb1 How to disable Plugin Container.exe Process of Firefox

3.Double click on each of five entries to set their values to false as shown above.

dom.ipc.plugins.enabled

dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npctrl.dll

dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npqtplugin.dll

dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll

dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.nptest.dll

4.Restart Firefox browser. That’s it plugin–container is completely disabled for Firefox browser.

I remove the annoying Thumbnail option in fire fox as well.

Disabling the Thumbnail system on firefox

1.Open Firefox and type about:config and click I’ll be careful , I promise.

2.Now Search for browser.newtab.url in the Filter box.

3.Now Double click and replace about:newtab with about:blank.

4.Now restart firefox. And there you go no more Thumbnails.

Hope this help's enjoy.

This is way i rarely have an issue. This system of mine has been tested.Oh and for this to work you might need to use fire fox 23 any thing newer and i can not count on any of the fire fox add-on's working. This will help with them annoying pop ups and that fbi moneypak that is running around on the internet.

First time i got that fbi moneypak on my fire fox is when i did not have these settings in place.

EDIT: Moved from Advanced SystemCare V7

You really don't need all of these on system only really need some thing like AVG or malwarebyts,You should only use two at the most like malwarebytes as your main scanner and AVG as a secondary.

Speccy is good for telling you on what info is needed about your system. And it can tell you more then you know your self like temp's on system.

But if you just want a simple Temp scanner here is a link below.

HWMonitor

http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/hwmonitor.html

I have run test scans on both sites for each item. They are clean File hippo is a great site for finding older version if needed.Just click on the older version tab on the right side of box.

These are great tools that help keep my system clean and fast like ASC.

I recommend to use Eset as a main Internet Security and Malwarebytes as a secondary solution.

From most points of view Eset Smart Security surpasses Malwarebytes.

I am not sure about that i have used ESS be for and did not like it.And majorgeeks does not recommend it on cleaning system. In all honesty i think that it find's less then malwarebytes.

But you can use what ever you like, but in them two postes that i put up i have it setup too the point where i hardly ever get any thing even if i do the malwarebytes will block it like it did to the new ASC 7.

Indeed, cleaning at ESET is the weak point. The advantage is that Eset has no false positives detected.

I have tested Eset along with Malwarebytes and then separated. Eset provided a real-time protection much better than Malwarebytes Pro.

Yes, I know that. I have used Malwarebytes for many years.

Maybe I should have not used the word "allowed"...but rather I should have asked if Octavian is saying that Malwarebytes did not prevent his machine from being infected.

I thought Octavian would have replied by now, as he is usually pretty quick responding to posts.

If malwarebytes detects a threat it will block it's install.

Simple threats are blocked but complex threats such as ransomware are not blocked, in other words the real-time protection is not good. If on your computer is only installed Malwarebytes security solution then your computer might be infected so well that it does not start.

I use Eset Smart Security for many years and it never allowed my computer to be infected.(From time to time I scanned the computer with Malwarebytes and did not find anything, my computer is clean).

Trust me its not i would no if it is.I know my system like the back of my hand real-time protection is good to have but i all so use the scanners them self's they scan system every night when i am sleeping.

You got to all so realize that there are all so lots of false positives out there.

I meant that is not good real-time protection at Malwarebytes not in general.

I like much more real-time protection at Eset (is more advanced).

So, you had only Malwarebytes on your computer and it got infected.

Did you then change to Eset.

Yes,I tested some time ago what happens on my computer if only is installed Malwarebytes and after a month or two I checked my computer with Hitman Pro and have found six types of malware (trojan, adware, virus).

I installed ESET, after almost a year I scanned my computer with Hitman Pro and computer is clean.

All users configurations are different... along with usage patterns concerning connectivity. So what is good for one is not good for another... Users must educate themselves about protection. There is much good information on this forum available... and many opinions also. You have to weed through it to find the flowers!

Sincerely,

This is way i have stuck with this setup mainly due to the fact i rarely have an issue. Most of the stuff i get is fake. And yes i do understand every computer setup is different.

I do agree with you So what is good for one is not good for another... Users must educate themselves about protection. i have learned that a long time ago with 17 years behind computers.
