Avast Flagging an IObit File

Hello Everyone -

Three times now in the past couple weeks, my anti-virus has advised, "we've moved BigUpgrade_IU.exe to your Virus Chest because it was infected with Win32:MiscX-gen [PUP]."* It happens when IObit notifies of an available [new version], and is why I've put off the update/upgrade.

I ignored it when it popped up the first time as I figured someone would catch it and fix or explain it. I had intended to post to this forum asking about it when it popped up the second time about a week ago, but I had been waiting on the email to complete the forum registration process, and then forgot about until today when it popped up again.

Why would Avast be flagging this .exe as a PUP? Does anyone know if it has actually been infected or something... or is Avast seeing it as a problem because the program must be so invasive in order to accomplish uninstalls?

Thanks for any help.

* I googled "Win32:MiscX-gen" but Google seems to think that I mean "Win32:Misc-gen." I could find nothing for "Win32:MiscX-gen"

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the file. Different anti-virus/anti-malware companies have different criteria for what they consider PUP's, Avast obviously has decided that it does not

like the file because it launches itself without user input.

Either put it into the Avast ignore list, or just let Avast delete it. It only tells you when there are new upgrades available.
