Help-Strange Icon in my Tray

Recommended Posts

Last two nights,an icon mysteriously appears next to my usual group.Sorry no screenshot available, but I will describe it as circular, blue and green(resembles the earth)with a small yellow ball in front of it(possibly the sun or moon?)The yellow ball is mostly on top of the "earth".This icon does not react to a mouse-over,left,or right click. It seems to appear later in the evening after I've left my PC unattended for @ an hour or so.My power settings are>turn of monitor after 5 min.Turn off hard disk after 10 min.System standby after 10 min.Hibernation is not enabled.I've Googled my a$$ off to no avail.Does anyone have any idea what this thing is? :???::???:

Hi detailer :-)

If you right click on Start and choose properties and then process line and configure, is it then shown there and does it say what it is?

Otherwise please provide a screenshot.

Cheers

Been There

Hi Solbjerg-If you mean Start>right click>Properties>Taskbar>customize.yes I've been there and it doesn't show up in the list of past items.I took the Win updates earlier this week with the exception of one I didn't want.Wondered if it was a "follow-up" notifier of some sort.Incidentally, since I don't have IE functional.I have to go to the MS update site via a different link for my updates.Probably has nothing to do with this, just rambling.I'll see if it returns, maybe a look into Task Manager will show something.

Is it the validation icon?

Checking when the icon is there is best I think!

Bingo!

Thanks Samr-That would be the one.Krissy,if you read this, could you please pass this along to the Dev's? I know it would be very low on the list of priorities, but it would be nice if this icon could at least respond to a "mouse over".It doesn't have to be "clickable",but it should, in some way, be identifiable. It would have saved me over an hour of "Google Time",and another three scanning for infections with everything in my arsenal. http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Computer/computer.gif Thanks for your attention to this matter.

It's ASC

Hi Garybear, how you been? Samr hit this one-My FF is up to date at v. 3.0.6,and the FF update icon lacks the little yellow ball on top of the "earth".Thanks for jumping in there though, because that had me going in circles wondering if I'd caught the latest bug that I hadn't heard about yet. When you see weird stuff like that,ALL replies are greatly appreciated!!Thanks again for coming to my assistance! For Enoskype-thank you,I see the reference line in orange text, but no depiction of the icon is shown :???::???:

Hi Detailer,

I have read this post. To be honest, I was confused by that icon too, when the first time I join IObit and use ASC.

At that time, I just thought I have little knowledge about our product, so I just thought I am the only one to be confused. But these days, I also received some customers email to ask about that little icon.

I must confess that maybe it should be improved as you said...

I will forward your suggestion to IObit Specialist Team for further improvement.

Thanks~
