SC Command Utility

I've been trying to learn to use the SC command-line program.

It is a very powerful and useful utility that can be used for many trouble-shooting and system-testing functions.

If you are a real Geek and do not know about it, you may want to 'check it out'. :-)

See Info:

While learning to use the SC command-line program

I became confused in trying to determine which programs would be considered 'drivers' and which are 'services',

since some 'services' control hardware devices also,

like 'drivers' do ???

So, some programs that SC calls a 'service' I would call a 'driver'

and it makes a difference,

as to the way Windows handles them.

But as long as you learn what Windows (Microsoft) want's to call them, everything is Okay. ;-)

Hi Toppack

By SC I assume you mean System Controller?

Hope you have mastered the intricacies now :-)

Cheers

Yes, but I'm still learning.

I did not realize how much control, of the system,

was possible with the SC utility.

There are some programs, that want to Take-over your computer,

that normal removal software will not Remove,

but with SC command you can Zap them every time.
