From the comments:

If you have Windows 10, in order to view the hidden folders, open the iPod hard drive, click on view and then options ( far right ), then click " change folder options." When the new window appears, click he view tab, and under " hidden files" is the option to show hidden files.

Google is a wonderful thing.

Assistant for iOS (Free) can transfer up to 10 types of files from your iDevices to computer with one simple click.

You can refer to this guide with Assistant for iOS: how to transfer music from iphone to computer

Good idea , once the music has been backup , we can created a backup files on computer ,then we can extract backup data at any time

I’m a big fan of the iPod but what I don’t like is Apple not being very forthcoming about how to move music from the iPod back to the PC. They’re quick enough to tell you how to move the music from your PC to your iPod but when you want to do the opposite, Apple clams up tight.

Step 1: Connect your iPod and launch iTunes. In the iPod management screen, scroll down to Options and check "Enable disk use." iTunes will give you a warning--select OK.

Note: If you get an error message asking you to reformat upon connecting, your iPod was originally formatted for Mac and cannot be used in Windows. One workaround is to install a program like MacDrive, which will allow your Windows machine to read Mac-formatted drives. Clicking "reformat" will erase your iPod.

Step 2: Now open My Computer and open your iPod drive.

Step 3: Open Tools > Folder Options. Click the View tab and check "Show hidden files and folders."

Step 4: Now in your iPod folder, open iPod_Controls > Music. Highlight all of the folders and drag them into the desired folder on your hard drive. This might take a while, depending on how much music you're transferring.

Step 5: Highlight all of the folders again, right-click, and select Properties. Uncheck "Hidden." Close this window.

  1. Connect your iPhone, iPod or iPad & open iExplorer.
  2. Click the Music button on the Device Overview screen (or Media Library in the left panel).
  3. Once your media loads, choose from the following:
    • AUTO TRANSFER - Click the Auto Transfer Button > Auto-Recover All Items to iTunes > Start Auto Transfer.
    • SELECTED TRACKS - Select any in the main window (hold Control (PC) or Command (Mac) to select more than one) and use the Transfer from Device menu.
    • SELECTED PLAYLISTS - Select a playlist in the left panel underneath Media Library and use the Transfer from Device menu.
    • DRAG & DROP - Select any tracks in the main window (hold Control (PC) or Command (Mac) to select more than one) and then simply drag & drop them to your computer.

Using software or any tool won't be that helpful. So I would recommend you to follow this manual process.

Regards,

Lewis
