  1. Hi Kirkules& Cicely , I have been using and recommending the free versions of IObit software to family friends and clients for years as most of the products outshine the competition. I was willing to put up with the ads because it was free and I reasoned that free software should be able to advertise to remain free. I have been fighting for and defending IOBit on the MalwareBytes forum for the last few years because MalwareBytes quarantines each new update of Advanced SystemCare and forces me to have to whitelist it every time with the only other option of having to turn off Malwarebytes PUP detection. Most of my family/friends & clients don't know how to whitelist so I have moved them from MalwareBytes (also a very good program but appears to have a vendetta against IOBit having lost a court case against them) and put them and myself on the paid version of Advanced SystemCare Ultimate (ASCU) and IOBit Malware Fighter (IMF). My thoughts being that between the two ASCU with BitDefender and IMF designed for Malware protection, I'd have close to the same protection that Malware Bytes provided. I did not think that we'd be bombarded by ads, most of which trick my family, friends and clients into installing. I have been looking for ways to stop the ads and wound up in this forum. A year or two ago, I thought only MalwareBytes considered ASC/ASCU as malware but now I have seen other AV software quarantine it and Virus total shows this. IOBit should listen to their users and allow an opt out in the paid versions or at lease on each new ad, allow a working "Don't show me this product any more" check box.

  4. I've been a fan of IOBit for almost 10 years, and held numerous subscriptions. IoBit has always recommended the occasional app via install, but their latest venture with iTop is going to be hugely damaging to their reputation. I work in IT, and I'm confident and cautious in ensuring I'm aware of what's being installed, but IOBit is now adopting some very sneaky approaches to the promotion of ITop. Hidden in the update options, using stealth, I'm now finding numerous ITop apps such as VPN and screen recorders are being installed without my known consent. Let me be clear, I did not knowingly consent to these being installed, though I'm sure it's there, somewhere in the small print. Congrats IOBit; I'm now heavily dependent on IObit uninstaller to keep removing the iTop apps you install. I won't be renewing with IOBit again. They've crossed the line.

  7. Cicely...the iTop programs are now installing themselves without a "checkbox" appearing. Today I updated Driver Booster to the latest version and all 3 iTop programs were installed without asking me. I think many of the posters are having the same "problem". As others have said, if IObit can't get it's stuff together and stop this, I will be looking for a new service for the first time in 6 years. As a paying customer this is completely unacceptable behavior. Does IObit staff understand this is the kind of issue that puts these types of companies out business because too many paying customers leave? Geeze, I don't need IObit being a VPN vendor.

  9. Today’s industries work on a different platform together, where android application development is a completely different ballgame! Industries that want to take the lead in android application development approach mobile app development with a youthful spirit. They are always a step ahead of their competitors and think beyond the convention. They creatively and innovatively engage with their clients and blend with their web development and design environments so that they are able to get the much needed mileage right from the start.

  10. I do not want ITop and I keep get spam mail from IOrbit and the damn thing installs itself again and again I will not renew advanced systemcare. IORBIT you have no right to do this.

  11. I have posted this in other places on this form...I will be not be renewing ANY of my subscription with you once they expire. I am sick of this BS you all have started with the pop ups and this iTop self installing every couple week. You service has become nothing more then a used car salesman or one of the POS that call on the phone wanting to sell me an extended warranty for my care...maybe you all should think about having your paying customes tic it if they want it rather then untick if they don't!

  14. Same here. I'm uninstalling all of my iobit software and discontinuing my iobit subscriptions as of now. This sort of behavior just tells me that they are willing and capable of, if not already committing, things like identity theft, tracing activities online, installing spyware, et cetera. You only get one chance with my personal computer system, and iobit blew it. There are alternatives that are just as inexpensive and effective that don't resort to this sort of unethical, low-class marketing and invasion. I suggest anyone else strongly reconsider their patronage of iobit.

  16. Hi KIRKULES and jmtcesnz.co.nz, Sincerely thanks for your detailed suggsetions and precious time.😃 Well, IObit really want to help users boost their PCs and protect their devices. And we really want to share the the quality programs that users may need. Sorry to see that the ads( shares) bring you inconveniences. I will report your precious suggestions to our product team for consideration and we will keep on improving. Your feedabcks are valued. @KIRKULES, yes, I agreed with you that the close button should be clearer. 😃Our product team will take it into consideration. But it is not a good choice to install a cracked program. Protecting Intellectual Property Rights is our common responsibility. Besides, it is not safe to install cracked programs as these programs may have potentially unsafe file. It may open the back door to steal data, or invade the original program and cause damages to your programs and computers. @jmtcesnz.co.nz, thanks for your trust to IObit. As you mentioned Malwarebytes detected our programs as PUP (potentially unwanted programs) by Malwarebytes. However, PUP is a very controversial topic since it also makes legit programs as PUP. Please read the articles below including Enigma Software's lawsuit against Malwarebytes for the later’s anticompetitive practices and Enigma won this lawsuit.Actually, we are basically in the same situation as Enigma. http://www.thewindowsclub.com/malwarebytes-potentially-unwanted-program https://www.enigmasoftware.com/legal/court-opinion-us-court-appeals-ninth-circuit-enigma-software-vs-malwarebytes-case-17-17351.pdf We contacted MBAM to resolve this issue many times but the flag is still there. Happy to hear that you choose us. For your suggestion - allow an opt out in the paid versions or at lease on each new ad, allow a working "Don't show me this product any more" check box. It sounds well. 😃 I have wrote it into the report and our product team will take it into consideration. @all, wlecome your feedback and suggestions. IObit always listens to our users. All of you make IObit today. 😃

  17. Hey Cicely, Calling a donkey an ass doesn't change it. Calling an ad a "recommendation" is the same. I don't know how many times I've selected what I thought was one of the almost daily updates and it turned out to be the new version. That's bad enough but I'm looking at an ad for iTop VPN right now telling me my IP address is exposed while showing me an IP address that is not my own, since I have a VPN already, and the only buttons clearly identified will all install the program. This is the fine print from the bottom of this ad "By clicking button, you agree to install to install iTop VPN and accept its EULA &Privacy Policy." The only way to close this ad without installing it is by selecting an almost invisible "X" in the top right corner. This "X" is deliberately hidden by making it only a slight shade off from the main background color. IOBIT is disgusting. So everybody here's the kicker. Go to any torrent site and download the crack. All IOBIT programs are available without any malware. I've been using it for years with no issue what-so-ever. Most of the time when they come up with a new version my old crack works to register it. When it doesn't I go to a torrent site and download the crack for the new version. It's always there. I know they are official IOBIT programs because I always use the installers from the official IOBIT website. Then I use the crack from the torrent site to register it. Now you won't mind their ads since you're getting the registered version for free anyway. I do wonder how good IOBIT is though when it can be so easily cracked. If I had a company or something I would absolutely be looking elsewhere for my protection. But I just have an everyday computer and it's good enough for me. Like I said, never had a problem. Enjoy!

  20. Glad to hear you were successful. The credit is entirely yours. When you install Driver Booster, if it finds lot's of drivers needing updates, do not be tempted to allow it to proceed and update them all. Look at the list, and if you decide to update some or all, do so two or three at a time. Then if there are any issues, you will have a better idea which driver update caused it. In fact it is better to update one at a time. I always recommend not updating drivers unless you have a specific driver problem, or the manufacturer strongly recommends a new driver. If it's not broken....don't fix it.

  21. Thank you for such a detailed reply. I fully understand your frustration. I had some advice found regarding fixing your critical error issue, but I see that is now not needed. I am surprised that it is ASC that has caused the problem, as my suspect would have been Driver Booster, which can cause such issues when not used carefully. From what you say, just the mere installation of ASC causes this lock up, without even running any ASC functions. I am sure that you want to get ASC working without issues having paid for it and because it is such a useful program. If so, I suggest that you first make a restore point. Then you ensure that any Anti-virus/antI-Mlware programs (including Windows Defender), are temporarily disabled, before you install ASC. Sometimes these programs prevent certain elements of ASC from installing, which can cause system issues. Before you install ASC open P3D. Ensure it is working. Then install ASC. See if any issues occur. If no issues, then open ASC and check the settings. Ensure that the Deep Clean option in Registry Clean is NOT selected. Ensure all Automated Functions such as Auto Care and Auto Clean and Auto Ram are NOT enabled. Let us know if there are any further issues.

  22. In order to help you, it is important to get clear information and detail. You have posted in the ASC 14 forum and only mentioned ASC 14 in your first post. Now you are mentioning other programs, including Driver Booster. Also, I have just Updated my ASC using the check for updates in the ASC program, and it simply downloaded and installed the new version. It did not take me to any website. However, when I look at the file you uploaded, I see it is a request for a re-install of ASC, not an update. So, as you can see, your information is confusing and it makes it difficult to help. Can you please give a detailed account of exactly what you did..and what happened. Additionally, iof you downloaded and installed Driver Booster, and allowed it to scan your system and allowed it to update all drivers it found, then, that could have caused the issue you describe. Also, please state what the status of your pc is at the moment, and what accesss you have.

  28. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, but I am already using the new Microsoft edge and this error code is different from mine. I would like to know if advanced system care may have removed old driver packages, as the error is related to that and if so I'd like to know how to prevent that from happening.

  32. Hi Laurie Glad all is now well. As for the trojan.....no anti-malware/anti-virus is 100% effective. There are just too many threats out there. Most likely you got the trojan in a download from a re-seller. That is why I always go to Majorgeeks. It is also good practice to have a second anti-malware program, which you would run maybe once a month just to get a second opinion. (Never run them both together....temporarily disable your main program while you run the other) Let us know if you have any other issues.

  33. Hi Laurie. It is fine to use the existing Iobit Uninstaller. I did not realise that you already had it. Choose every item on the list and delete everything. Then follow the steps I gave you previously to ensure that any residual folders are deleted. go to file explorer ....C:\Program Files (x86)\Iobit and delete any ASC Folder. Also go to..... C:\Users\*****\AppData\Roaming\Iobit .....and delete any ASC Folder Before you install ASC again, you should temporarily disable your Antivisus/antimalware programs (including Windows Defender). This ensures that there are no accidental mis-haps with the installation. Reinstall ASC. When it is installed, make sure that Smart Ram is disabled in the settings. Open the Performance monitor and see if it is working correctly, before you re-enable your Antivisus/antimalware programs (including Windows Defender). Then Enable your Antivisus/antimalware programs.

  34. Hi laurie Sorry to hear you are having issues. Firstly...ASC....It is no harm to Uninstall ASC again. Iwould however suggest that rather than using ASC's own Uninstall, that you download and use Iobit Uninstaller to remove ASC. Download it only from Majorgeeks. It does a better job of removing remnants.....here is a link to all the Iobit Product Manuals...so you can see the functions and settings available. https://www.iobit.com/en/product-manuals.php Again after the uninstall, perform the steps I gave previously to ensure any residual folders are removed. Before you install ASC again, you should temporarily disable your Antivisus/antimalware programs (including Windows Defender). This ensures that there are no accidental mis-haps with the installation. When it is installed, make sure that Smart Ram is disabled in the settings. I would not be concerned with IMF finding a Trojan, while the recycle bin was being cleaned. It was probably a legacy item that had been there a while. I am sorry, but there is no way for me to tell if the IMF log is related to $R9SJ890.exe....but as I said it is probably a legacy item. Also, it is unnecessary to shred the files in the recycle bin, unless they are sensitive/personal files that you want to ensure can never be recovered. Under normal emptying of the recyle bin, the files can still be recovered by special software. The shredder just prevents that. IMF does monitor the entire PC, including ASC. I hope your issue will now be resolved.

  37. Hi laurie Sorry to hear your issue is not resolved. 1) I now have a "StartMenuExperienceHost" runs all the time I don't think I need it, how do I delete it? (attached image) You should leave StartMenuExperienceHost alone. It helps your Start menu to run smoothly. 2) windows defender screen protector, how do I disable or block it from running? Launch Windows Defender Security Center from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar. Click the App and browser control button on the left side of the window. Click Off in the Check apps and files section. Click Off in the SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge section. 3) Windows "redistributable" programs (attached image) can I delete all? The 2010 versions showed up in the recent Win 10 update. I recommend that you do not delete these. They are part of the Windows Runtime System. Even though they are showing as old versions, it is best to leave them alone. Removing them has been known to cause issues with Windows Updates. Regarding the Performance Monitor issues......yes, I think you should uninstall ASC and re-install it to see if it corrects the issue. Use Iobit Uninstaller to remove it and ensure you use the option to remove all remnants. Also, go to file explorer ....C:\Program Files (x86)\Iobit and delete any ASC Folder. Also go to..... C:\Users\*****\AppData\Roaming\Iobit .....and delete any ASC Folder Reinstall ASC. Let me know if you have any further issues

  38. Open Task Manager. Scroll down the list of processes until you see Performance Monitor. Right click on it and end task. This will close the Performance Monitor. If you have Auto Ram selected in ASC settings, I recommend you un-select it. Auto cleaning ram is not a good idea. You can restart the Performance Monitor by right clicking on the ASC icon in the taskbar and click..Open Performance Monitor.

  42. Unfortunately, Iobit seem to be determined to destroy their reputation as a company who cares for their Users. The link that Iobit has in the forum for Uninstaller v10 is a cnet link. What is supposed to happen is that this would be updated in the News & Offers section of the forum, and there the Majorgeeks link would be provided However this was not done, because Iobit just do not care anymore. So, here is the link for Uninstaller v10 from Majorgeeks......http://m.majorgeeks.com/files/details/iobit_uninstaller.html In future you should just go straight to the majorgeeks site to download any Iobit programs.

  46. Yep, you're right about the spamming from IOBit (what other name is possible for this?). Under the guise of keeping users informed about new products, IOBit spams every user continuously and relentlessly without any user option to decline. I've complained about it to support and they say they'll "pass along my comments" but, of course, it's just lip service. An interesting situation exists here where the "anti-spamming" company spams almost every day to it's paid users (yes, paid users as well as freebies). In addition to the spamming, the advertising language is structured so that you believe there's some kind of update for the software you're using but, you soon find out it's just a scam to get you to buy the next version. It's really a shame because the product is excellent; the uninstaller is fantastic and the driver load app is also unmatched as far as I'm concerned. But, I'm to the point where it's time to look for alternatives due to their constant spamming. The company has a fiduciary responsibility here which it isn't practicing so, your choice is to either put up with it or move on.
