Thanks for the post. Although I wouldn't consider myself an expert, I am pretty savvy. I've been getting " stuff" to work for many years. I actually did remove the sw and re-d/l it and got the same result. I'll try to "redo" it one more time just to be sure. I tried it on a completely different computer at a different location and got it to at least start the defrag but it too ended up hanging. Thanks Running XP SP2 and IE7
