  1. The above would always be refreshingly welcomed, and preferred. If only we could banish them altogether. ;-) And of course that which really goes without saying (but said nonetheless), wherever gains can be achieved without negatively affecting the other: reductions in system resource usage, improvements in overall performance (the three "s's": speed, stability, security), are always most welcome. regards, Laurence
  2. Hi Mel, Can you tell me why it is an unrealistic hope that IObit would develop their Uninstaller so that it can do (for their own software) at least that which (I assume) BitRemover did in its heyday? Surely IObit could if they wanted to, and if they don't want to, then, I wonder why. Then perhaps another cleaner ought now to be recommended, rather than BitRemover, whenever suggesting to users to use a third party tool to completely remove IObit software left-overs (regarding the "Clean Install concept Clean Install"). regards, Laurence
  3. Hi all, I had written Thomas Hoen, author of BitRemover, asking if there would be an update coming to support other and recent IObit programs. The last version he had released was on April 2010 - Version 1.4.2; and Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 were the system requirements at the time for that release. In his reply to my my email he stated, "At this moment, BitRemover hasn't been tested at Windows 8. I can not guarantee that it will work, and (because of changed folder locations) it will probably not work as good as on the tested operating systems." He also added that due to his studies he wasn't able to update it anytime soon. So this leads me to wonder whether there have been any changes in any of the recent versions of IObit software, its registry entries, and/or files and folders that BitRemover v.1.4.2 is still being used to remove. And what of said BitRemover's use under Windows 8. Regarding the complete removal of any traces of IObit software (both that which is presently installed and that which 'had been' installed) perhaps the necessary coding can be added to IObit's own Uninstaller so that it will do as well or better than BitRemover ever had.  regards, Laurence
  4. Hi BocaDave, According to this post Boot Defrag does not yet work in this beta version. (It begs the question why include the GUI for same if not yet ready eh, go figure. ;-)) Looking forward to the next release of the beta, and hopefully specific features will work better. Smart Defrag has and continues to shape up. Looking good. Laurence
