Please read the previous posts in this Topic -(as you should have before posting)- as this issue has already been addressed.

I did read the repetitive posts/comments/responses; none of which gave an answer, other than the original .
Download page will not open in SafeMode. Instructions are in the incorrect order.

    • Download the tool
    • Reboot in safe Mode
    • Run tool

Trying now to locate the downloaded tool.

Sorry, but your reply does not help anybody, because the original poster(OP) has an issue with Protected Folder (a separate Iobit Program)

and your reply is related to Iobit Uninstaller, which has no relevance to the issue.

So, we will wait for the OP's reply/explanation.

The question was how to uninstall ProtectedFplder. (Note the ticked item in the screenshot)
Will IObit Uninstaller not accomplish this? or just with password?

  3. Use IObit Uninstaller. This is the easiest way to uninstall almost anything. I'm not sure if you need the password to accomplish this.
I have no idea if your files will be deleted; I'm glad that it doesn't matter. Perhaps my reply will help the moderators comprehend your question, so as to provide a more accurate response.

  4. Why would you want to open the folder after it has been deframented. What would it tell you??

May not tell me anything. However, this could possibly be a shortcut to delete the file. This particular log file has a tendency to become massive and sometimes will not defragment.

SystemExplorer constantly writes to its log file.

  5. Hi Cicely.

Currently I don't have a way to test Smart Defrag v5 and since my Windows 10 laptop is working pretty good with ASC pro 9 and SD 4 pro, I don't want to uninstall SD 4 pro.

Let me see If I'm able to manage to test this on a virtual machine or on another computer, will keep you informed.

    Thanks

    Hey @ektorbarajas

I have both SD4 & SD5 on my W10 machine and on an old XP machine. I do not know if this causes an issue (need input from moderators).

This may not work for you (need input from moderators).

SD5 installer requires SD4 (or other older versions) to be uninstalled. However, if you still have (and can locate) the original SD4 setup file, it probably can be reinstalled after installing SD5.

    Hi Edward27821,

To help you out of the problem, please download the tool from http://testdemo.iobit.com/SD5InfoHelper.exe

Then double click to run this tool and click “Save report to Desktop”. You will get a zipped file IObit_Debug_Info.zip on your desktop, please send it to us so that we can get the detailed information to look into.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

OK here it is with a latest screenshot.

The SIP as shown in the Task Manager, is an indicator of the resources (CPU) which the system has deemed as not required at present in order to perform your requested tasks and system tasks. Therefor this percentage of the resource (CPU) capacity is available should you need to perform other tasks.

    Same Page:-) Abandon Tangent.

  8.

When the computer is on, the CPU’s running and it must do something – even if that “something” is ...virtual thumb twiddling, but we wouldn’t call that doing anything useful.

    ....

And the “System Idle Process” is the software that runs when the computer has absolutely nothing better to do.[/Quote] https://askleo.com/what_is_the_syste...st_of_the_cpu/ Whatever is being used by SIP is available.

When you sleep you have an intermittent SIP called dreaming. TV is a SIP for when you're awake, with nothing better to do.

    https://askleo.com/what_is_the_system_idle_process_and_why_is_it_using_most_of_the_cpu/

  9. "The CPU time attributed to the idle process is therefore indicative of the amount of CPU time that is not needed or wanted by any other threads in the system."....

Which, as I said previously means the amount of system resources not being used at that time......]

"not needed by any other thread." ? "not being used."

    Doesn't matter... Abandon Tangent...

  10.

System Idle Process means the amount of system resources not being used at that time..........

Yes, but not exactly; it is a process/thread. . ...not being used at that time........ by any other thread(s).

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Idle_Process

SIP can get stuck (rarely) not allowing other processes to have access to the CPU.

Generally resources in use by SIP are available when called upon.

SIP may (not sure) start the screen-saver and/or shut off display.
