Excellent! Be sure to let me know when the next beta is released so that I can provide some more feedback. I assume that the software database for tracking updates isn't live yet?

First off, THANK YOU for all of your assistance Cicely, I can imagine that it's a full time job just trying to report new issues to your dev team without creating repeat requests. ;) Second off, I sent off a slew of email responses to the dev team today. I don't know if you ever see those, but there are perhaps a half dozen of these issues that they are currently working on (at least). I don't think that that is true. If you recall, the one developer (engineer) had me reboot the computer to force it to recheck for updates. I'm guessing that the software defaults to checking for updates once a day (at a specific time), except that it also checks on a reboot for new updates. My point was that if this IS the default behavior, it should be changed. ESPECIALLY since one or more updates may get borked while Software Updater is trying to update multiple applications. Software Updater NEEDS a button to recheck for application updates on the update page. It would probably be smart to disable the button during the download / update process. However, it really is necessary to provide the function or the end-user is left wondering what succeeded and what failed. Of course, sometimes attempting to repeat-install a borked update can cause serious problems, so that's one more reason that you want to avoid confusing the end user. To that end.. the default button in the menu is confusing. It should at the LEAST be renamed to indicate that it is a button to check if Software Updater needs to be updated. I recommend moving it entirely to its expected location, on the about screen, and simply listing Software Updater first on the update screen, if it does need an update. :)

Just an FYI, IObit Software Updater reports that everything is up to date. Glary Software Update Pro Reports that: Search Everything 7-ZIP Ultra-ISO Premium Audacity FoxIt Reader LibreOffice (64bit) Quicktime TreeSize Free All need to be updated. Again, I don't have access to your internal list, so I don't know what should be listed in IObit Software Updater and what shouldn't. I'm just reporting what I'm seeing.

Apparently the issue with Software Updater updating and installing both versions of calibre is already resolved in the new version of Software Updater. When I reinstalled my old version of calibre 64bit, Software Updater did not attempt to install the calibre (x86) version, so all is good.

There appears to be a bug in the percentage bar which is reporting the installation percent complete. As I mentioned above, I had a hidden update install of Java 8 which Software Updater reported hung at 75%, so after a few minutes I cancelled the update. After restarting the computer, Software Updater is reporting that the update actually completed. Should I uninstall and reinstall to be safe, or do we think that the update succeeded? I going to send an email to include an SU.... log file. Please advise.

I am disappointed to see Avira, Opera and the other bad software recommendations still listed in the GUI, and that my suggestions of quality software have been ignored. You should make an effort to remove the bad choices from the list and replace them with the superior choices I listed, or ones of your own choosing. Either way, you have a public responsibility to NOT encourage the use of buggy, deceptive software like Avira, Opera and others.

So, why did you switch the download location from MajorGeeks to Softonic? The forum admin at MajorGeeks is a precocious jerk, but at least MajorGeeks doesn't try to force you to register, and bug you with notifications pop-ups and adware. I finally found a link on Softonic that let me download from http://update.iobit.com/dl/isu1/20190221/iobit-software-updater-setup-final.exe anyway. The 'Check for Updates' button is deceptive, I would expect that button to check ALL of my software for updates. I recommend that you put a button on the page for the list of installed software which checks ALL software for updates. If Software Uninstaller has an update, list it FIRST on that page, and have it update itself first, then reboot and re-run the check. I expect a 'Check for Updates' button for the package (Software Updater) on the 'About' screen. Somebody declared it a good practice for some reason, so if you MUST have a button for that function, I would put it there. I had an update for JAVA hang at 75%, I cancelled the update, restarted the software, and now It is listed in the up-to-date section. I am attempting to re-run the update check, but I don't have a way to force it to check. I'm going to attempt to reboot my computer as soon as I submit this and see if that forces it to re-check. However, I shouldn't need to do that. I should just have a button to force a re-check.

Woops, I spoke too soon. Uninstaller is ALSO reporting that RealVNC is bundleware under calibre, which WOULD be an issue. Also, note that bizarrely, Uninstaller is reporting the 'calibre 64bit' is bundleware under 'calibre' (x86), even though 'calibre 64bit' was the software package which was originally installed on the system. I seriously believe that the method which Uninstaller is using to detect bundleware is flawed. EDIT: After uninstalling calibre (x86), none of the others are listed under 'bundleware'

The next time I opened the program, it reported this: Program Name One Current: v2 Available: v3 <Update> Program Name Two Current: v2 Available: v3 <Update> Program Name Four Current: v2 Available: v3 <Update> Program Name Five Current: v2 Available: v3 <Update> Program Name Six Current: v2 Available: v3 <Update> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Program Name Three Current: v2 Up-to-date Program Name Seven Current: v1 Up-to-date Program Name Eight Current: v1 Up-to-date Now then, I think it IS CORRECT behavior for the program to install successive updates (v2, v3, v4) however, the program INCORRECTLY reported that everything was up to date when it was not. I hope that that makes sense. The 'calibre 64bit' software package and the 'calibre' (x86) software package are two separate software packages. I am including a screenshot of my Start Menu. Please note that all of the Start Menu links to the 'calibre' (x86) software package are brand new, untouched (orange) links. I believe that IObit Software Updater detected 'calibre 64bit' on my system, then update installed BOTH of the packages for 'calibre 64bit' and 'calibre' (x86). The bundleware is a non-issue really. I don't think anyone would care if Uninstaller is reporting that one version of calibre is bundleware under the other, because NORMALLY, you do not want two versions of calibre installed. That would be asking for corrupt files, as both software packages would be accessing the same databases and ebook files at the same time. I am going to uninstall both versions of calibre now, then install calibre 64bit, then attempt to duplicate the behavior in Software Updater. I am PRETTY sure I can do that without messing up my eBook database. Cross your fingers, I will report back shortly..

Oh my gosh, I'm on a roll again. Abobe Flash Player is now popping up saying that it needs to be updated. Software Updater is oblivious to the update. Uninstaller is reporting that calibre 64 bit is bundleware under calibre (x86). ACTUALLY.. I think I didn't even HAVE calibre (x86) installed previously. I'm not certain, but it's possible that Software Updater falsely detected one or the other version (64x / x86), and update / installed them both. It's about 3 hours past my bedtime though, so I might be mistaken. Hopefully you guys can sort it from all of these log files that I've been sending. ;) The GIMP update failed in the precise same fashion as last time. Again. I noted that Uninstaller is reporting that 7-zip and VLC Media Player need to be updated, but Software Updater isn't seeing those updates either. Third time with the GIMP update, no luck. Just sent a debug thingy from the 'Feedback' button in the app.

Oh!! I doubt it makes a bit of difference, but I should mention that on the original high end laptop, I downloaded IObit Software Updater off of the IObit website. It offered to let me download the beta after I downloaded Driver Booster. On THIS machine, I just downloaded Software Updater from the MajorGeeks link at the beginning of this thread just a little while ago. :)

..Please note that I am quite pleased at the progress that we are making here. I'm happy to see all of these little bugs getting ironed out. :)

Um... I just opened Software Updater again, and it is now reporting that I need to do 5 more updates on this machine. It appears that it is running consecutive updates (which I consider to be correct behavior). The problem is that after the first batch of updates, it told me that everything was up to date. It did not report that I had another batch of updates to run. I'm just going to post this screenshot here. I don't see the point in sending off yet another email. ;)

So... I'm working off of the military grade laptop as we speak. I sent the IU.... log file a little while ago. I had the exact same anomaly with Software Updater not catching the CCleaner update.. although it did catch 6 other updates. :D I took screenshots. I'm having a failed attempt at updating GIMP. It appears that the download is hanging at 6.36kb, even though the KB per second is bouncing around reporting that it's downloading at 450-750kbps. Disturbingly, Software Updater appears to be attempting to execute the failed download. I don't know. I took a bunch of screenshots, then closed the Setup window and the Software Update window, then ran the SU.... log generator. I'm going to email off the whole mess... now. So that your guys can sort it. :) I'll attach the final screenshot to this post as well. Why not?

That would be the IU.... log file correct? I'll generate one momentarily and send it from that machine. :)
