  1. Hi, Just checking back in. I emailed the report Jan 22 and haven't heard back. Thank you!
  2. I use multiple monitors and prefer performance monitor to be positioned on my secondary monitor on system start up. This used to work perfectly, but with the latest update (15.1.0.183) performance monitor always starts on my primary monitor. Then I drag it over to the secondary monitor. This is not a huge problem, but hopefully in future update performance monitor can "remember" the position on secondary monitor again. Thank you & Happy New Year!
  3. I don't see any checkboxes as this is an automated upgrade from prior version. Most recently, I got a pop up saying V 15 was available, and I only clicked to install the upgrade. During the upgrade Avast then pops up the warning. I submitted a false positive report to Avast so hopefully they will add ICONPIN64.EXE to their list and not quarantine it in the future.
  4. As best I can tell, Driver Booster gets installed automatically with ASC. I'm a long time user of ASC and every time there is a new version of ASC, Avast pops up this infection warning. When I Google ICONPIN64.EXE the results say it is a component of Driver Booster. I did not install or license Driver Booster as a stand along product, but I am able to uninstall it using iobit's Uninstaller. I could be wrong, but everything I see leads me to think Driver Booster gets installed along with ASC. http://windowsbulletin.com/files/exe/iobit/driver-booster/iconpin64-exe
  5. I have the same issue. Is there a way to install ASC without Driver booster?
  6. Back from vacation so picking this up again. Here's the update, and it's looking more to me like ASC is not happy on this hardware. First, as suggested, I downgraded from ASC Ultimate to ASC free. I did this by using ASC Uninstaller to remove Ultimate at which time it gave me the option to install ASC free. Both system crashed within 24 hours. Then I tried to disable ASC service using services, so it doesn't start with Windows. It still loads performance monitor at boot time, the the ASC service isn't running per services. Systems crash within 24 hours. Then I remove ASC Free completely. Both Systems have run now without crashing for 48 hours. I will let them run a couple more days to verify. I want to provide more info about how Win 10 "crashes" because it's unlike anything I've seen before. The first sign is that the clock stops. Some programs will function, some programs will not. I can click window icon (lower left corner) or use window key to bring up the menu. I then click "power" and it shows me "Sleep, Shut Down, Restart" options. I click "Restart" but nothing happens after that. I have to use the hardware reset button. Next steps: Since my son is on summer break, he doesn't need this system daily. I'm planning to stick a fresh hard drive in the system, do a fresh and simple install of Win 10. Then add ASC as the only program in addition to Win 10 and the drivers Asus posts on their website, and see if the system crashes. If it does not, then I will repeat the same, but this time with Intel RST enabled in BIOS and adding the Intel RST driver to the Win 10 install. Let me know if you have any other suggestions Thanks!
  7. Thanks for your help. I'll keep you posted as I test more and/or what I hear back from ASUS tech support.
  8. OK, I hear you that running 2 anti-virus is not a good idea, but I have been using this setup for years using 3 other ASUS platforms: ASUS VivoBook 17 F712DA Thin and Light Laptop ASUS TUF Motherboard ATX DDR4 2667 LGA 1151 Sabertooth Z170 S ASUS LGA1151 DDR4 DisplayPort HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Mini-ITX Motherboard Z170I PRO Gaming I also have been running ASC and Avast on laptops from HP & Acer, as well as Intel NUC computers. Seems to me that if these programs were in conflict, I would see it on the at least one of the other systems also, if not all of them. My hunch is that what sets the new systems apart is the newer Z590 chipset and the Optane Memory. There's probably more, but those two come to mind first.
  9. Actually, I disable ASC anti-virus as we use Avast suite for anti-virus and other security features. I use ASC for system tuning, cleanup, the uninstaller, and I really like the performance monitor, esp the screen capture utility. I will try disabling the ASC services after I see if the Optane memory is the issue. My gut tells me if the ASC services were the issue, I would have seen problems on my other systems which run ASC using defaults (other than disabling the anti-virus)
  10. Yes, it appears there are 3 ASC processes running. I have disabled everything I can find in setting as far as background programs/processes. Also, I notice that when I open ASC, and then close it immediately, I get a popup in lower right (screenshot attached) that says ASC is still protecting your PC. I'm also wondering if this Armory Crate is a problem. That is a download from ASUS, but I do not have it installed on my other ASUS systems.
  11. Sorry, I misunderstood. Anyway, after uninstalling the Intel Driver utility, the system crashed a few hours later, so I do not think that is the offending software. So far, the smoking gun points to ASC and this motherboard, as the systems run fine w/o ASC installed. I do have Intel Optane memory installed on these systems, so I think next up is to disable the Optane, and see if they crash.
  12. Fair enough, I will try reinstalling all the drivers from Asus support downloads.
  13. Both these systems are fresh builds, about 2 months ago. Fresh Win 10 Pro install, latest drivers, etc. I think the issue(s) lie in that this motherboard is a new product from Asus, and there may be bugs to work out. I'm using both the Asus EZ Update utility and Intel's driver assistant to make sure I have the latest drivers & BIOS.
  14. I'll try uninstalling the Intel utility, but I'm skeptical as the systems ran fine with Intel software installed and ASC uninstalled. Will report back.... Thank you!
