  1. UPDATE: Ok, i officially discovered IOBit Unlocker does NOT work on Windows 10. It is pretty much abandoned by IOBit. For those reading, you can check out actual working alternatives (with no bloat) like LockHunter (free & open source): https://lockhunter.com/
  2. I had been on Windows 7 for the longest time and so i finally upgraded to Windows 10 just 6 months ago 😛 ... nonetheless, i had been using a program generically called Unlocker (not related to IOBit) to unlock files. When i moved to Windows 10 i noticed that ALL locked files would indicate as being "Not locked" when using this app. So i decided to deinstall it on Windows 10, thinking it was not compatible, and install IOBit Unlocker instead. Oddly, on Windows 10 it does the exact same thing...meaning ANY locked files just show as not locked in Windows 10. Huh? I ran tests like: - Locking a playing video file (e.g. playing in VLC) - Locked text file (via opening with exclusive access) via code - A running process (e.g. Photoshop) All 3 types show as unlocked in IOBit Unlocker. I have to assume this program just isnt supported and does not work in Windows 10? I have it set to run in Administrator mode btw. I havent bothered to check if it runs fine in Windows 7, whcih i assume it does since the other program, Unlocker, only seemed to work fine in Windows 7, not Windows 10. So i figure the same issue is happening here. I will likely just deinstall this app since it quite literally does nothing at this point. So not a big deal if it is no longer supported. I figure these types of apps just are not possible on Windows 10 seeing as how the other program behaved the same way when i changed OSes.
