Thanks but I had seen this post already while trawling for an answer. I have contacted Sophos support and following their advice I have now uninstalled MacBooster 8. I think I will just keep the software and reinstall it when I feel my computer is slowing down as I rather have continuous protection against ransomware etc

Sophos first blocked MacBooster 8 and would not allow me to install it. I then gave permission for Sophos to accept MacBooster 8. I was able to run the software but the Sophos Shield went orange with the message real time protection not working appeared. I was unable to reinstall Sophos on this computer but Mac Booster 8 is working. I managed to reinstall Sophos on another iMac with the same operating system. On this computer Sophos is working but MacBooster 8 is not. When i try to open the app I get the message "You do not have permission to open the application MacBooster 8 app.. Contact your computer or network administrator for assistance."

My Sophos anti malware software has stopped working since I installed MacBooster 8. (my operating System is macOS Big Sur 11.6) Are the two softwares compatible with each other?
