the laptop was 'reasonably' secured... this time it's getting locked down tighter than a... lets not go their...

 

I hope i havn't been a pain with the postings. it's been 10 years since i've had an issue with viruses, last one was nimda (rpc shutdown) i think... pain in the *** installing the patch on 100 pc's in under 60 seconds each... lol

well, tbh, i don't mind certain viruses that expose just how crap the security is on microsoft systems actually is, provided they don't become a pain in the *** or do damage...

 

Personally i prefer Linux, specifically Linux From Scratch... build your own linux OS from source tarballs configured they way you want it...

These days, i recommend Linux servers to clients. (IT systems specialist, web applications developer, SEO specialist yada yada yada)... well when i have clients that is :cry:... lol

 

unfortunately, like alot of people, i'm forced to use MS...

No matter how much Security there is, there is always someone that will find a way Around the Security. :roll:

This is true upto a point... but then, microsoft do brag they are the most secure and stable operating system... well.. indirectly brag / implied...

 

But thats an argument for another forum... lol
