1.02 beta -> Bad.

Recommended Posts

History always repeats itself.

It's again the same old story:

- Color map is broken.

- Progress meter updates itself about once in a minute.

The program should be faster now: yeah right.... after 17 minutes it has analyzed 17%. It's now slower than ever before.

This is not worth trying. Stick with 1.01. beta.

Hi mrahk

I just downloaded it and installed it, then tried it.

Analyzing took less than ½ a minute, and it suggested defrag&optimize

Defrag&optimize took 7 minutes by me

Haven't found anything wrong yet.

Cheers

OK, I'll prove it.

On the first screenshot you'll see that ISD has analyzed 1579 files and it indicates to be working on a certain file.

On the second screenshot you'll see that ISD has analyzed 4569 files and it still indicates that same file as in the first screenshot.

And it is obvious too, that the colormap is not working.

Hi mrahk

From your screenshots it looks like you do not have the roll panel where you choose either Defrag or Defrag&Optimize.

My guess is that you did not install the program in an empty folder, (make a clean install) please try that.

Hi mrahk

Did you read enoskype's post in News and Offer, that we had been a bit premature with version 1.02, actually Iobit earlier said that it would be released sometime today.

But that aside it is strange that a few have problems, but many doesn't, sometimes it can be very hard to isolate the culprit.

Cheers

@Solbjerg:

Yes, I do have that roll panel.

The screenshots were made during an analyze procedure in action.

If the program is analyzing the panel disappears (at least it does in my case).

Yes, I did read that message, although I don't quite understand it.

In that message a version of 2.01. is mentioned?! I guess that must be version 1.02.

B.T.W.: I am more or less a software tester by profession so I know what I am doing. I know that I am taking a risk by using beta software, but I am willing to take that risk.

By stating that the software is "Bad" I do not mean that the software is bad in the meaning that it isn't working. After all it is doing a reasonably good job.

By "bad" I mean that it has features or characteristics that make it not suitable to be released for the general public in my opinion.

So I take the liberty to report it here otherwise I would be a "bad" tester. I know it can be seen as if I have a lot to complain, but it is only to improve the software.

Further observations on the current version:

That colormap I mentioned before does appear when defragging has stopped.

The analyze procedure takes a relatively long time, but the defragging procedure is very fast (it defrags about 600 files/minute).
