IMF's "Please wait" running for over an hour - ??

Recommended Posts

This AM before I could re-boot, IMF popped up with "Please wait..." Didn't write down the reason, but think it had something to with retrieving data. More than hour later, it was still running. I clicked "Cancel" needing the computer for an emergency.

Is there something I can do in Settings to set a time for these kinds of things? First thing in the AM for something that takes so long isn't it. (Maybe that's the reason I couldn't access IE while it was running ... rather than the problem having been JAVA.)

Thanks for the help!

Cicely, thank you for replying.

IMF: Version 1.7, Definition Version 1203 (2013-01-22)

Pop-up is the same as a morning update in terms of looking like the typical IMF page.

It reads "Please wait ... Retrieving update information".

Again this AM, same pop-up. Clicked 'Cancel' after 15 minutes.

Weird things happening on this computer since JAVA's latest version was D/L'ed. Need to know that IMF (as above) is NOT part of Oracle's invasive problem.

Thanks for your feedback.

What is the popup did you get? Please kindly send us the related screenshots.

Guide for taking screenshot.

BTW, do you have the latest IObit Malware Fighter 1.7?

IMF's "Please wait" running for over an hour - ??

Would someone PLEASE explain why this is happening AGAIN?

IMF with its "Please wait..." running longer than 90 minutes and prohibited ANY access to the internet.

I finally turned IMF off - and will keep it off until there's an explanation for it popping up, retrieving information, and rendering my computer a dead fish.
