Faster Pop-up time

Is there any way to increase response time when I click the Start button?

Do you have the latest Start Menu 8 1.0.2? And you can download it from http://download.iobit.com/startmenu-setup.exe

 

If you have the latest version, but it needs a long time to respond. Please feel free to tell us with more details.

I have the latest version, but, I was wondering if there is any way to increase the response time, as it usually takes half a second untill it opens. Windows 7 was almost instantaneous. :wink:

If you're comfortable editing the registry and you choose to go that route, check out the following link, and *if* that is what you are asking about, the method described still works for (and in) Windows 8.

 

NOTE: *Remember to first backup the registry before making any changes to it, and know how to restore it if need be.*

You say "it usually takes half a second" - does it respond more quickly or slowly at the other times? And of course if you are approximating the response time of the menu it may indeed be already responding as set by Windows default, i.e. 400 milliseconds.

 

Have you noticed any other programs on your computer slowing down as of late? I am wondering if something else may be at play.

Sometimes I have to double-click it,because it doesn't respond.

 

Everything else is running just fine.
