Question about "stop" button and data integrity

Recommended Posts

If in Smart Defrag 2.27 the button "stop" is pressed while the defragmentation is being executed is there any risk to lose data on the partition?

I mean for example if it happens that a writing or a replacement of data is truncated in the middle in the moment of the stop.

In other words is it risky using this option during that process?

Thank you very much for the attention.

No data will be lost by pressing the 'Stop' button,

it will complete the present data transfer before stopping.

I have done that many times with No problems.

I've read that there can be data lose if the computer looses power

or locks-up for some other reason during the process, though.

Luckily I've never had to test that myself.
