Hi.

I was uninstalling SmartDefrag and Avast informed of a rootkit, attached is a screenshot.

What is that? In another computer also with Avast, I uninstalled Smart Defrag 2.8 and Avast never informed of that rootkit.

Please explain what is goin on since it's weird and I'm worried

Thanks

Hi ektorbarajas,

Thanks for your feedback.

Possibly, the issue you mentioned is a false positive.

Please take the steps below to help us look into the issue.

1. Please update your Avast to the latest version.

2. Please check whether you have the latest Smart Defrag 2.8.1 free. If you have not, you can download it from http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/iobit_smartdefrag.html

3. After make sure that you have the latest Avast and Smart Defrag free, please uninstall SD again to see whether the issue still remains.

If it does, please also send us the related screenshot and the precise version of your Avast.

By the way, could you please tell us why you want to uninstall SD? Does it bring you any inconvenience?

Thanks in advance.

Hi.

I re-downloaded and installed Smart Defrag, my Avast is up to date and now the uninstallation was ok, no message from Avast.

Currently I'm uninstalling SmartDefrag since there are some features that I'm missing and would like to wait for a future version, some features were posted as suggestion in the following thread:

http://forums.iobit.com/showthread.php?t=11028&page=16

The main reason I'm uninstalling Smart Defrag is the lack of multiple user accounts support. Since We have a common computer in house.
