Now windows won't start

Installed Driver booster on two computers last evening, first one went off with out a hitch(older HP Vista Machine).

Second one won't load windows 7 now.

(sorry for all of the commas) Downloaded Driver Booster, ran it, prompted reboot, restarted machine, got BSOD on restart, then Windows error recovery screen, "Windows failed to launch", launch start up repair, ran rapir(recommended) cannot repair, tried this several times, sometimes it says "cannot find any problems", several times said "Root Cause Found: A patch is preventing the system from starting", tried system restore, will not work. Tried everything else, nothing seems to work, it just will not start windows. but i do have access to the system recovery options including the command prompt.

Windows 7 business(long ago upgraded from vista), 64-bit, lenovo, x200 tablet, SSD HD

edit: The hard does appear to be working and accessable, I did move some files to a thumb drive booting with the Windows 7 DVD, I can see everything on the HD in this mode. but windows still will not boot.

In the command prompt type in bcdedit /fixboot and that will rebuild you boot sector. Windows vista used an ntloader to boot the operating system instead of the windows boot manager that 7 and 8 use this will completely rebuild your mbr for you and may allow windows to restart. Some of the newer drivers for windows 7 may not support the windows vista components still embedded in your boot record

Hi user_unknown,

We are sincerely sorry to hear about that and sorry for all the inconvenience.

To look into this issue, can you please reboot your computer in Safe Mode? Then please download the tool from http://www.cd4o.com/drivers/debug/InfoHelper.exe

Then double click to run this tool and click “Save report to Desktop”. So you will get zipped file DriverBooster_Log_Files.zip on your desktop. Please send the zip file to support10@iobit.com with URL to your post.

Thank you in advance for your patience and help on this issue.

We look forward to your earliest reply.
