  • 3 months later...

This problem appears to still exist. I have advanced systemcare v8.1.0.652. After running the scan tool and restarting my PC, every metro app stopped working. I could not enter the store to reinstall nor could I go to the settings from the charms bar. I had to do a system restore to finally fix it. I ran a powershell command that fixed the problem with going to the store and was able to repair the apps but they stopped working again after another reboot. So I have not run the scan tool again because I don't want it to break my metro apps. This was all done on a brand new PC after running all of the Windows 8.1 updates.

Hi mglaze,

Here we provided two methods for you to try:

Method 1:

  1. Please open PowerShell according to guidance from https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/.../hh847889.aspx
  2. Execute the following command:
    ((Get-ChildItem "HKLM:SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx\AppxAllUserStore\InboxApplications") | Get-ItemProperty).Path | Add-AppxPackage -Register –DisableDevelopmentMode

Method 2:

Please download demo from https://www.dropbox.com/s/k8jw7kylew...epair.bat?dl=0, then right click on it, select Run as administrator, please check whether the issue continues after you run the demo.
