ASC Ultimate 7 not playing nice with Bitlocker

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

I've installed Advanced SystemCare Ultimate 7 on my Windows 8.1 machine, and after doing a scan and repair, my Bitlocker is no longer able to unlock my drive. When I boot up and right click my locked drive to unlock it, I see:

I'm still able to unlock the drive by going in to my control panel, selecting bitlocker, and unlocking the drive through that method.

Pertinent info:

Hi agilson

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear you are having an issue. Firstly, you should go into the rescue centre in ASCU and run a system restore to a time prior to the issue occuring. See if that solves the problem.

Secondly, check your setings in registry fix and see if Deep Clean is selected. If it is then disable (un-select) Deep Clean.

If you did a scan and repair with Deep Clean selected, you may have inadvertantly removed some registry references.

Hi agilson,

Thanks for your feedback.

We find the cause of this error now. It was caused by the Registry Fix module. We worked out a fix now.

1. Please download Reg.dbd from https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/66599949/Reg.dbd

2. Put it into C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced SystemCare Ultimate 7\Database

3. Download regstore.reg from https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/66599949/regstore.reg

4. Double click regstore.reg to run it. If you are not the Administrator account, please right click on it and select Run as Administrator.

Then run your program again to see whether this error is fixed.

Looking forward to your reply.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks guys. Scannan, unfortunately I'm trying not to rollback as this started 2-3 weeks ago and I've updated other software since then. Is it possible to rollback specific registry entries?

Cicely, I copied the first file in to C:\Program Files (x86)\IObit\Advanced SystemCare Ultimate 7\Database as I don't have a 64-bit version of ASC installed on this machine. I then imported the registry entry and rebooted. After rebooting, bitlocker didn't work from the Windows Explorer screen, but does still work from the control panel. "Unlock drive" in the context menu is now called "unlock-bde".
