Smart Defrag stops after 3 days

Smart Defrag stops after 3 days because the scheduled tasks created (SmartDefrag3_Startup and SMartDefrag3_Update) have "Stop task if it runs longer than [3 days]" checked in the task settings.

 

Uncheck this box and SmartDefrag runs continuously, as desired. I also found this fault with SmartDefrag2.

 

This only applies to PCs left running 24 x 7, of course.

72 hours

 

The 72 hours is a default setting in Windows. Not a SD3 issue.

 

I have ASC to restart my system every noon. And have it to shut off at 23:45 nightly. My system is set to start my computer every midnight.

In my view. it /is/ a SmartDefrag issue. When installing SmartDefrag, inappropriate settings (such as stop after 3 days) should be overridden by the installer. I hope this will reach IObit's attention.

 

My systems run 24 x 7, so a daily restart would not be appropriate.
