Really uninstall SmartDefrag (including WinExp context menu entry)?

After having uninstalled IoBit SmartDefrag I saw that there is still a context menu entry for WinExplorer (under Win7).

How can I really get rid of this stuff?

Which Registry key do I have to delete?

Hi pstein

Welcome to the forum.

What did you use to uninstall SD. Did you use Iobit Uninstaller, and if so did you run the powerful scan to get rid of all traces and associations.

Hello Scannan,

I used the "normal" Uninstall feature from Win7.

Which "Powerful Scan" did you mean?

Usually an uninstall should remove ALL traces. There should be no need to do some extra steps.

Unfortunately that is not the case. Most uninstalls only remove the the actual execution and command files and leave lots of associated files on your computer. Te best way to uninstall is to use the Iobit

Uninstaller which is free. You can download it by clicking on the Download Iobit Products at the top of the forum page.

This Uninstaller has a powerful scan option which you should run at the end of the uninstall. The scan will give you a list of all the associated files and registry entries which still remain on your machine. You simply click to delete these. Job done.
