How do I disable Boot Defrag using command prompt?

Hello, my Vista computer is having major boot issues which I suspect may be due to boot time defragmentation. I can't even load safe mode due to the computer freezing. I was curious if there was a way to disable the defrag using only basic recovery tools (preferrably cmd).

Although I haven't tried this yet, you might want to try below.

 

Command: "C:\Program Files\IObit\IObit SmartDefrag\IObit SmartDefrag.exe" /StartUp

It doesn't recognize it as a command. Also, since this is being run from a boot time command prompt, it doesn't seem to be able to run any programs. It simply says "The system cannot execute the specified program."

Sorry to hear that trouble.

 

What is the precise boot issue? Where does it preeze? Please take a picture and send it to us to look into.

 

By the way, please turn off Boot Time Defrag by clcking " On" button on the main screen of Smart Defrag to see whether you can boot up.

I'm unsure what the issue is at all, as startup repair and chkdsk both say they can't find what's wrong. The computer freezes right after the defrag, never showing the Windows logo. I don't seem to be able to run Smart Defrag in command prompt, it just says it can't execute it.

prompt?
