Registry Fix - Nonexistent File Path

Some of the 1715 "errors" found by Registry Fix have Item Name: Nonexistent File Path, though the paths shown in the Data column actually do exist. This appears to be a problem that could disable many of my important apps, so I canceled the "fix." Why is ASC finding these apparently nonexistent "errors"?

Hi Bankston

Did you follow the file paths exactly, - and did it then show any data?

Hi Bankston

A scenario:

Let's say that you have had a program installed, and let's say that the program has been in your startup items, then let's say that you first remove it from the start up list (one startup item in your registry that now is obsolete), then let's say that you have updated the program (several items in your registry is now obsolete- new ones have been created). So you will have to check exactly if the path to the file is valid.

There is usually no problems with the registry cleaning.

The more dangerous section is the optimization of the system setting, this is where one has to configure the details before running the repair.

Your cautious approach is very commendable though

Cheers
