ASC 9 Beta Suggestion

I sent this as an email but got an automated response back which seems very impersonal and so am posting here to see if anyone has any additions/expansions on the idea

It would be great if you could run ASC via the command line. At first

I was thinking of making this possible only with the file shredder

since every night I shred the recycle bin but then I realized that

many parts of the program could benefit from command line arguments automation.

I would personally want to run a batch script to start file shredder

with arguments to tell it what to shred. Some other stuff such as

doing a full scan and repair would also be nice to automate.

I personally would use windows task scheduler to set the timing of the

scan so it can be run in conjunction with other automatic backups and

tasks but some people may prefer it to be built into ASC where it sets

the task itself since many already leave it on all the time to do some

auto optimising and cleaning in the background.

If any or all of this is already possible then it should be made more

obvious how to enable/set it up. Feel free to contact me with any

addition questions or comments.

P.S. I tried to use the feedback button within the app itself but it failed.

Yeah the feedback button does not like to work.

command line arguments can add a lot of automation to your daily tasks but they can also allow for malicious tools to constantly negate the effects. Just think of a malware tool that had some malware make a command line to auto close it without running the scan.

It would be a large security risk but if they could remove/reduce that, it would be an awesome feature

Hi carstorm,

We have forwarded your suggestion to our product manager for serious consideration.

The send feedback failed is a known issue. We are investigating it now and will try our best to fix it asap. Now, you can send your feedback via feedback@iobit.com or post it on our forum.

Thanks. Nice day!

Yes although that is true of any program that has Command Line Functionality. That's why you have anti-malware software installed. The fact that someone could have malware isn't good enough reason not to include advanced features else we would have no advanced features since this could be exploited by any program!

Couldn't edit above post but to add, if they don't add the feature to their program people WILL look elsewhere and may not decide to use both programs like I do (ASC + other program)
